The Wallenstein axle is not machined and has no bearings, therefore, the pitted axle is scraping directly on the bronze bushing, which is between the axle and the drum. There is no provisions for lubricating the bronze bushing. By comparison, the Farmi JL501 has a machined axle, and bearings with lubrication.
